Licensed removal

Work health and safety laws in the ACT and NSW require a licensed removalist for most asbestos removal work, and the rules differ between the two. We'll tell you what applies to your job. JESCO holds a Class A asbestos removal licence (ARA00003), which covers both friable and non-friable asbestos.

Our principals, Jill Krogh and Arthur Watson, bring decades of experience in asbestos assessment and removal in Australia and the United States. That experience shapes how we plan, isolate, remove and dispose of asbestos on every site.

Non-friable and friable asbestos

Non-friable asbestos, such as fibre cement sheets and tiles, carries a lower risk unless it is disturbed. Friable asbestos crumbles easily and can release fibres, so it needs specialised controls. We handle both, from assessment through safe removal to proper disposal, strictly following safety regulations.

How it works

What happens on an asbestos removal job

  1. 01

    Assess

    NATA accredited lab

We inspect the material and, where needed, have samples analysed by a NATA accredited laboratory.

  2. 02

    Quote and plan

    Written quote and plan

You receive a clear written quote, and we prepare the removal plan for your site.

  3. 03

    Notify and prepare

    Regulator notified

We notify the regulator before licensed work starts, then isolate the area with containment and signage.

  4. 04

    Remove and clear

    Clearance before handover

Asbestos is removed, wrapped and taken to a licensed facility, and a clearance inspection is done before the area is handed back.
